National Anthem

"BLESSED MOTHERLAND"

"NUHU NINA KIBÈRKAT"

Raye mak hami amhasi

Nwarili along-along sedim hinati,

Ratara na tasi

Na tauma kula ina nèsira ati.

Makuwa hami mahudak,

Moli haima nguwa ni nus ruin.

Lirai wia amkurak

Hi tanu lui mak nami yambak rudin.

             ***

Hi kuru ye, ranawek

Na rwayua wese.

Walanim, hami dasaim

Nuhu Nina kibèrkat

Nèmakinti hami yan,

Hi lasahi, nami ratna,

Liraidahen Kaupèlan.

            ***

Milim hami tikai,

Kidai ungi yu nèmitu tana.

Wiraha sihai,

Uni tanam, nami jiwa ampana.

Tiraik watera hi langi

Na yabidi weru nwal nèmulin,

Nèma na nèsangi

Hi tanu lui mak nami yambak rudin.

Our beloved homeland
Has dense woods and trees,

Mountains and seas

And a people with a brave heart.

Of Makuwa we are heirs,

Descendants of a strong race.

The good king we obey

On the sacred ground that our ancestors lie.

             ***

In this land, each plant sown

Fructifies.

Our home, our folk

Blessed Motherland,

Shelter for our souls,

In the East, our jewel,

Kingdom of Kaupelan.

               ***

However, we are vigilant

If the darkness strikes our land.

The ultimate sacrifice
For our land, our lives will be offered.

Untill the Sun return to the sky
And the dawn finally comes

Bringing the peace again

On the sacred ground that our ancestors lie.
